Milo

Our 14-year-old watched The Exorcist for the first time last night. Her conclusion: Tony and Jayme are actually dog priests and performed an exorcism on Milo, because in actuality he was possessed by a demon before he did board and train at Lead Your K9. You might laugh at this -- we did, too -- but it's no joke that the six weeks our Jack Russell Mix spent at LYK9 completely changed our quality of life with our dog.

We adopted Milo after he'd been through several other homes. He's super cute, and we're pretty sure that's how he managed to survive. He marked in the house, pooped in the house, we couldn't walk him comfortably on the leash, he was aggressive with anyone he didn't know (including kids, and children are a big part of our life), and picked death match-level fights with our super laidback coonhound. We are experienced dog owners. We are experienced rescue dog owners. He was way beyond what we could handle... but something needed to change. What LYK9 did is nothing short of a miracle to all of us. He's not a different dog, but now he fits in our life. They were patient with us and saintly with him, going as far as setting up a camera to catch him when he was about to poop in his crate so they could help him navigate his way out of the behavior. Tony paid us a home visit a few weeks after Milo returned to help us with a few sticky outlier issues. In each case, it was a simple tweak to our routine or behavior that helped.

We really, really can't thank these holy people enough. The best part is bringing Milo back to board. His tail starts wagging off his tiny body when we turn into the parking lot, and when he comes home he's had a little exorcism tune-up.
